The only accommodation at Ewan races is BYO Camping.  There are several public camping areas. These areas are serviced with a limited number of community septic toilets and showers.  There is also a barbecue for general use. The camping areas are divided into sections and you will be advised on arrival as to the appropriate section for you to camp. There is no electricity available to camps in the public camping areas.

Camping is part of the fun when attending the Ewan races and to ensure that your fellow campers enjoy their stay, the Club asks:

  • That as camping space is limited, you set your camp as close as possible to the next camp to avoid areas being left that are not able to be used by others

  • That you keep cars out of the camping area and park nose in on the side of the road

  • That you please keep a lookout for other campers, especially the children

  • That you drive slowly at all times

  • That you conserve water and keep showering times to a minimum

  • That if you have a generator it be used in a manner that avoids disturbance to fellow campers. Generators are not be operating between 10pm and 8am

  • That fires are only lit in containers and must be completely extinguished before being left unattended

  • That all rubbish be placed in the bins provided

  • That showers and toilets be left clean and tidy

  • That amplified music not be played in the camping areas

  • That you leave your dog/s at home. Dogs are not permitted at the race track and its surrounds

The Club has set up a separate camping area for caravans and mobile homes. The general camping area is in two sections – one for families and the other for those who may wish to party into the early hours. Please seek advice as to the area suitable for you before setting up your camp. There are no powered sites. Please note that sites cannot be pre-booked or reserved.

For your guidance, please refer to:

Because our Public Liability Insurance cover through Racing Queensland only provides cover for race club activities, public camping at Ewan race track is restricted to the period from the Wednesday before the race weekend to the Sunday immediately following the race days. The EATC Committee will be packing up the venue on Sunday, and as such it is preferred that all public campers vacate their sites on Sunday afternoon.

There are a number of private camps - if you are invited to one of these camps, your camp host will provide you with details.

Please note that the facilities at the private camps are installed by the camp hosts at their own expense and are not available for public use.

If you are using the public camping area, you can cater for yourself or take advantage of the catering van which will be on the course (and approx 100m from the public camping area.)  The food van will cater for all meals as well as snacks throughout the weekend.

The Bar will be operating within a licensed area on the track throughout the weekend. As with all licensed premises, the purchase and/or consumption of alcohol by anyone under 18 in the licensed area is strictly prohibited and will be closely monitored. All adult guests are asked to assist in enforcing the under age drinking laws. Alcohol cannot be brought into or taken from the licensed area.

A breach of the liquor permit conditions could seriously jeopardise the event for the future.
