Ewan 2020

The COVID Edition


The 2020 Ewan Races will be held on 25 and 26 September but will be a very different event to the traditional event due to the COVID pandemic and the necessary restrictions imposed to enable the races to proceed under the Racing Queensland COVID Safe Plan and the EATC Event Safe Plan for camping.


Initially ticketing was restricted to 2019 members and current sponsors. Since Saturday 5th September, ticketing is available to the public but only until we reach the capped number of patrons. Please note that those purchasing tickets in this release will be designated a public camping area within the grounds at the time of arrival – you will have to camp within this zone and adhere to the directions under the COVID SAFE EVENT PLAN.

The arrangements for Ewan Races 2020 are the best that EATC can do in the current environment. The EATC has made every effort to support the country racing industry and faithful supporters.



The membership of 2019 members has been extended to include 2020 BUT membership will not include any admission to the races on the Friday or Saturday or camping at the race track. All ticketing has numbers capped and will be only available for pre-purchase as detailed below.


Members will be provided with the first opportunity to acquire tickets. We will endeavour to contact existing members but it will be of assistance if existing members initiate contact for ticketing on the number provided for ticketing.



Children (under 18) other than those children with designated tasks will not be allowed at the races. Children are permitted in the camping areas.



Special Release Ticketing for camping, children camping, Friday races and Saturday Races is now available by clicking on SPECIAL RELEASE TICKETS above. Tickets are also available by contacting the Club on 0492206112

Members who wish to attend Ewan Races 2020 should contact EATC on 0492 206 112 between 8.00am and 8.00pm and provide name, address, telephone number and email address and provide credit card details or make arrangements for bank funds transfer for payment.


Once payment has been processed, tickets will be emailed to the email address provided.






Prices will be as follows:

  •           Friday racing                    $25.00

  •           Saturday racing                $35.00

  •           Camping                          $10.00 – accompanying children free


Those wishing to camp will be required to advise the number of children who will be camping with them.



Races will be held on Friday and Saturday:

  • 5 races on each day with the first race at 2.00pm

  • Gates will open at 10.00am and close at 6.00pm   .


On both days there will be Bookmakers, Bar, Food, and Seating.


A Calcutta will be held prior to the first race each day.



All campers are required to present a camping ticket on entry.

Designated areas have capped numbers in each area.


Public Camping Areas

  • Max 20 persons in a camp site

  • 15m to 20m spacing between sites

  • Social distancing at showers and toilets and in the camp area

  • Only access showers and toilets in your dedicated area

  • All campers to follow the COVID practice of washing hands/use sanitiser regularly, good hygiene, social distancing etc.

Private Camps

As the private camps have restricted numbers and are subject to the COVID Event Safe Plan, people who normally camp in a private camp should contact their camp hosts before booking tickets as it may be necessary for you to use the Public camp areas.

Campers in private camps are required to comply with the same requirements for public camping.


Club Art Union- a 1 in 200 chance to win $10,000


Tickets are now available for the 2020 EATC Art Union. There are 200 tickets @ $100 ea and the winner will be drawn at the races on 25th September. EATC committee members and their families residing with them are not eligible to acquire tickets.

The purchase of a ticket in the Art Union is a great way to support the Club even though you may not be able to attend the 2020 event.


Annual General Meeting

The EATC AGM will take place at the Ewan Racetrack on Thursday 23rd September at 11.00am.


The meeting agenda will be: Receiving minutes of the last AGM and business arising from those minutes, President’s Report, Financial Report, Management Committee Report, Election of Office Bearers and Committee and General Business.

All members are welcome to attend.



Everyone attending the races and/or camping are required to adhere to all COVID safe practices, observe all signage and accept any directions given. Compliance will ensure everyone can enjoy the privilege provided by the plans.


Please be aware that COVID Safe Plans can be modified or have consent withdrawn with little or no notice.
